I'll be happy to take a look at doing some deltas from previous ISOs to the current snapshot. It'll just depend on if its small enough to be worth the while.

The CD iso is a slimmed down release with just the LXDE desktop and not much else. The goal for that is to provide a way for old hardware to get installed with a minimal desktop from CD, and from there they can customize other 'meta-pkgs' / desktops they want installed from the mirrors.

As for PBIs to 9, I will get the build server cranking on a bunch of them here in the upcoming weeks. There are already a number of them available direct from some previous runs of the build server though:

Wow! That is some really serious response time...

BTW... I tried to install 9.0 x64 in VMware, but it never really seems to work :(
x86 on the other hand installs flawlessly (VMware)! it's too bad there isn't any .pbi's ready so that I might really load-it-up and see where things go!

Either way... Thank you very much :)

You're welcome.

We should have an 8.2 snapshot available by end of this week. Kris is finishing up some MFCs and it will take another day or so after he is finished for the iso to build and be uploaded to the ftp server.

It would really be great if you provided a delta/diff between the previous snapshot and the current one. This way, we testers with limited dsl speed or quota, will find it very convenient to test the 9 branch more often.
don't think about any complicated process, just a simple diff file (preferably compressed)

and do you have any idea about this file PCBSD9-CURRENT-20101204-x86-CD.iso in i386 folder. What does it install/provide ?

Cheers to all PC-BSD team and keep up the good work :)
