8.2 Handbook is Frozen
The 8.2 version of the Handbook has been frozen to leave time for translation work before 8.2 is released. This means that if you make any edits to the Handbook on the wiki, that change will not make it into the 8.2 version of the Handbook. Once 8.2 is released, the 8.2 Handbook will be available for download/viewing in PDF and HTML formats. The wiki will be unfrozen at that point and work will start on updating the wiki content to reflect the upcoming 9.0 release.
If you are interested in assisting with a translation of the Handbook, please read the instructions in this mailing list post.

Given the changes, especially to PBI tools, coming in the 9.0 release, perhaps it would be a good idea to leave the 8.2 Handbook frozen and clone it for 9.0? Otherwise we may end up with 8.x users reading 9.x documentation and getting confused.
Or maybe that’s what you had in mind and I’m just not reading it correctly?
The wiki version of the Handbook indicates what version it is. Once it is unfrozen, it will indicate that it is the workspace for 9.0 and will point readers to the location of the 8.2 version.
postgresql.orgso i take it you plan to have multiple versions of the handbook, one per pc-bsd release .. like there is e.g. http://www.postgresql.org/docs/ .. if so, then i agree it is the right approach. (y)
my comment above somehow got garbled :-/
Yup. That is that irritating wordpress bug that noone has figured out how to fix yet
Yes, we will have multiple versions of the Handbook and each release will contain a shortcut to that version of the handbook on the desktop.
