Right now USB messages and other things just write over the top of the prompt, which is part of the current design.

For logout/reboot, did you confirm? By default, KDE requires you to do this.

The wpi driver should auto-load in the next beta. IIRC, flash should be fixed for Konqueror in next beta as well.

Did you get an error with appcafe? What happens if you type appcafe at the command line?
