The snapshot that includes the package sets is this one: http://blog.pcbsd.org/2012/05/pc-bsd-9-stable-20120524-snapshot-available/. There was an error in the pbreg which produced an error when fetching the upgrade. This has since been fixed and should be on all the mirrors by tomorrow.

i3 should also be available during installation.

You can easily do both. Be sure to click Customize -> Advanced Mode when you get to the disk selection phase of the install: http://wiki.pcbsd.org/index.php/Disk_Selection_Screen.

The screenshots have changed slightly as Kris finished up the ZFS improvements in this snapshot. I'll be updating that section later this week, once my new testing system arrives.

Thanks very much for this, I've long been a fan of PC BSD.
Currently I'm setting up a FreeBSD home server but am not keen on learning all the tricks involved to force it onto ZFS or a software RAID 1 mirror, so if I can achieve either of these with your new server install then that is absolutely fantastic!

Some I've answered, some I've forwarded to the devs.

As of this snapshot, AppCafe shows package size.

Not sure what happened with sound in skype as it was working before. It is possible something changed in the upstream port.

Weekly package sets are on the radar and will happen soon, allowing the base system to not be more than a week out of date.

We planned to have E17 as a system component in 9.0 but could not integrate it due to the lack of config files. We'll have to think how to include it going forward (maybe a PBI?)
