The Revamped Life Preserver

Kris Moore has an article in the October issue of BSD Magazine which describes how the new PC-BSD 9.2 utilities are making it easier to take advantage of ZFS features on PC-BSD. The redesigned Life Preserver makes it easy to manage ZFS snapshots and to replicate them to another system or removable disk. The article is on pages 16-18 and the issue is available for free download.

Too bad we can’t use it anymore to replicate the backup to a simple server with SSH, the remote server needs ZFS now.

As far as I know, this may be possible to save snapshots dump file to a remote server in a future version ?

the link “free download” goes to a site that requires you to give them your email, then get it from your email.

    that is just wrong@stalkers.com.

I don’t disagree 🙂 However, that is how BSD Mag chooses to do it.
